How to Face Criticism

It is very easy to criticize the design works of other person but it is a skill really to provide a constructive criticism. When you post one of your art works there starts different criticism from each nock and corner of the world. Never be desperate of the criticism because it is rather a psychological game where one versus too many. It is an art to take each criticism as an opportunity to learn.

As a fist point let me tell you, suppose you have posted a design in one of the sites, still after a few weeks you haven’t received any criticism or comments what will you feel? Certainly there is a scope to be desperate. But on the other side suppose you receive too many criticisms, be happy because so many have viewed your work from different angles and they have thought of your works for long time. Your work might have ignited the imagination and thoughts of so many.

Value the Constructive criticism

Always value the constructive criticism or comments pointed by the fans. Your criticizers are your fans. Take and value only the constructive levels and ignore the destructive criticism. Analyze and learn the criticism and always find the real meaning and worth of each criticism. Never think that your fans will hold back their negative comments after seeing your angry comments.

Never put your confidence under question

Always remember that the effort you have taken for your work is far above than the two or three lines of criticism. They are not to assess the real strength of you rather they are the perception of other people where in you have the option to take the good and neglect the irrelevant. Be confident and see the criticism from a higher level, ie you are above the criticism and not beneath the criticism. Let it increase your confidence rate and answer the comments with new works and applications.

Opportunity to learn your clients /View it as suggestion

Criticism helps you to understand the level of your clients or fans. It also helps you to make an assessment of your fans and their expectations. Explain your self rationally and never emotionally about the meaning of the criticism. View the criticisms as the real suggestions from the clients.

Criticism is not personal

Criticisms are not personal indexes and standards but they are just the perception of the clients. They see one angle of your work not wholly.

Keep your presence of Mind

Never be upset or absence minded in facing the criticisms, because they affect your performance and free thinking. Analyze all the aspects before you respond to the comments.

Never waste time to criticise the criticisms

Never the criticisms steal your precious time too much. Never waste time on answering the criticisms but concentrate on challenging designs.
